Bungalow Bay is a large, friendly and stylish YHA backpacker’s hostel, set in the heart of Magnetic Islands National Park.
The accommodation has been designed for the eco traveller, with double and twin bungalows and 8, 6 and 3 share bungalows (dorm style).
Nestled amongst the gardens, each bungalow here will provide you with a balcony, access to shared bathroom facilities, bed linen and a fan. Some have their own bathrooms and air-conditioning. All bungalows are individual timber buildings divided by trees, thus allowing for privacy. With the accommodation all being at ground level, free ranging wildlife intermingles throughout the resort. Camping is also available (the only camping on the island).
BUDGET ACCOMMODATION & CAMPING
Bungalow Bay Koala Village offers the only camping on Magnetic Island. The large shade trees, abundant wildlife and grassed camping areas provide guests the opportunity to fully integrate with the environment.
The Island bungalows and dorm offer a range of room sizes and configurations. All Islanders are fully refurbished with comfortable sprung mattresses, high ceilings, large screened openings & canopy of shade to ensure they are always cool.
Retaining the 1930’s heritage of the site, 2 of the original buildings from the Swenson Family Guest House have been refurbished as ensuite doubles, with fridge, coffee making facilities and a private porch with table and chairs.
These fully refurbished bungalows offer comfortable fully sprung queen and single mattresses, bar fridges and a choice of bungalows with either air conditioning or natural ventilation with fans. Facilities are shared.
